Do you take reservations?
Yes, please email us through the Contact form on our website. Do you offer gift certificates? We are not offering gift certificates at this time. Can you fly over my house? Depending on which tour you choose, we most certainly can. What are the hours of operation? Generally from 10am to 4pm but it varies. Please email us for a reservation. What if this is my first flight, ever? Wonderful! Many passengers are experiencing the first flight of their lives when they go up in our biplane. We are sure you will love it! Will it be cold during my flight? The temperature during your flight will be about 10 degrees cooler than it is on the ground. We recommend a jacket or windbreaker that does not have a hood, otherwise the hood will need to be tucked in to avoid blowing in the wind. Do I need to bring my own goggles and hat? What about hearing protection? We provide hearing protection to all passengers. We also let you borrow a cloth aviation cap that secures the hearing protection and your glasses or sunglasses. If you want to bring your own goggles, they need to be secured with the cap. How safe is this? We consider it to be very safe. This Waco Taperwing has an 80+ year history of safety. Our aircraft is maintained by an FAA certified air-worthiness inspector. Our pilots have thousands of air time hours in vintage aircraft, as well as heavy jet transport. Will we do aerobatics like loops, rolls, spins, etc.? Although the aircraft is more than capable of aerobatic maneuvers, our standard flights do not include aerobatics. Will I feel sick during or after the flight? Many people think that they will feel sick in a small airplane but they have not yet experienced the Waco Taperwing. This plane cuts through turbulence like butter. The fresh air and smooth ride do not cause discomfort. A common myth is that it is better to fly on an empty stomach. Actually, it is best to have had a light meal about an hour before the flight. Can I bring a camera or a videocamera? You may bring anything that you can easily carry and hold onto while in flight. Are there age, weight or height limitations? Weight limitations depend on whether a passenger is flying alone or with another passenger. If flying alone, we can take someone who is up to about 250 lbs. If two people are flying then it is best if one person is around 200 or less and the other person is around 150 or less. This is what we have found is comfortable for passengers who can vary in size. If you are of normal mobility then it will be easy to climb into the cockpit. We have flown some older folks that need to take their time climbing in, and that is totally fine. There is no minimum or maximum height. We can provide a small booster cushion. Young children need to be able to sit next to an adult rather than lap-sitting. Are the gift certificates refundable? Gift certificates that we have donated do not have cash value and the expiration dates vary. Purchased gift certificates are good until the expiration date listed on the certificate. Purchased certificates are transferable but not refundable. Other Notes: As with all registered aircraft, there is no smoking. It is a FAA recommendation that smokers stay at a distance of at least 50 feet from any aircraft. |
